A Wood Nymph Novella

Abelia, a Boronda Forest Wood Nymph…
She came to Willow Bay to satisfy her curiosity of human life, and got more than she bargained for.

Jack, an archeologist bent on discovery…
He can't wait to leave Pennsylvania and return to his explorations in Australia, where life is filled with dingos and roos.

Danger abounds…
Human hunters stalk the enthralling Abelia, and Jack comes to her rescue. The hunters back off, but she suddenly vanishes, and he's left confused as he returns home to the rugged Outback.

They’ll risk it all…
When Abelia magically appears in Jack's kitchen, she must divulge who and what she really is and risk the mythic people's secret for his help to return home. Meanwhile he risks his heart in convincing her to stay.

My Review:
Abelia is quite brave for leaving the protection of the Boronda Forest to visit a human town. She's very curious after listening to Patience talk about Willow Bay.
Abelia likes looking at all the shops and their wares, when she passes a bar and is noticed by some men. Trying to get away from them, she bumps into a handsome man who aides her in escaping the men. The men are hunters of the inhabitants of Boronda and don't give up easily.

His stay in Willow Bay is almost up and Jack is anxious to get back to his home is Austraila to continue his archeologist discoveries. A gorgeous woman literally runs right into him, she looks frightened. Ever the gentleman, Jack stays with Abelia.
When she suddenly disappears, Jack is very surprised. He gets on a plane and heads home. I can only imagine how surprised Jack was when Abelia disappears. I think Abelia has lived a very protective life in Boronda and seems naïve. I liked Abelia a lot, she was just curious after all she had heard from Patience. I admired her bravery when she and Jack encountered danger in his house. I also liked Jack, he helped rescue a damsel in distress. There are lots of surprises in store for both Abelia and Jack. Will they be able to handle them?

Portals of Oz is a quick read that has adventure, danger, excitement, and romance. Sheri has infused wit and humor, romance and passion into a short story. This is a fun book and I hope there will be more like it.

SHE TAKES A CHANCE.
Determined to forge a better life, Ella launches her new business with high hopes—until a sexy Centaur bumps into her and throws her life off course forever. Voted “Most Eligible Bachelor in Boronda”, Aleksander shakes up her world and tilts her in more ways than one.
HE’S IN DANGEROUS TERRITORY.
Years of warfare and countless bedroom encounters have stolen Kempor Aleksander’s luster for life. He never expects to rediscover his zeal in the small, redheaded form of Ella the Troll, who fires his blood hotter than the deepest caverns in the forest.

But as trouble lingers in their midst—and edges ever closer—Alek and Ella spiral into troubled terrain. Turning to each other, the pair face down dangers that run impenetrably deep in their mythological world. But will the two lovers discover a passion that runs even deeper?

My Review:

Troll-y Yours starts off with a bang! The fantastic wit of Sheri Fredricks shows throughout the book and makes this a fun, engaging, emotional and unpredictable read.

Ella wants nothing more than to escape her mean and overbearing parents to live on her own. She wishes she could be more like her brother, Eli the golden child in her parents' eyes.

During a romantic encounter, Kempor Aleksander seems to realize that there must be more to life than just a quick lay. Ever since his friend, Rhycious has found happiness with a nymph named Patience, casual sex just doesn't seem as fun as it once used to.

Aleksander meets Ella at the Neigh Cafe during Ella's new business of speed dating. There's something about the curvy, beautiful troll that calls to Alek's libido. Ella believes the handsome Centaur is joking when he calls her beautiful because she knows she is not.

Ella and Alek are a very unlikely match and Ms. Fredricks writes their tale exquisitely. The two have quite the adventure, Ella gets kidnapped, the spies seem to be getting bolder and bolder and it's difficult to tell who can be trusted.

I laughed so hard once, I scared my sleeping cats. I also cried and wanted to throw a brick out the window. When a book can make go through all of those emotions, I know it's a keeper. If you haven't read any of Sheri's books, I highly recommend them.

Man by day, Centaur by night, Rhycious is a remedy maker who needs his own healing.

He's the royal physician, famous for his cures. War and post traumatic stress disorder has broken his spirit, preventing him from finding true happiness. Then a direct order from the queen to investigate an uprising forces him out of his secluded cabin at the edge of the forest.

Patience is an optimistic, good-natured Wood Nymph who works as a mediator to ensure harmony within the Nymph sector.

Environmental pollution in the aquifer stream that feeds the taproot tree of her heart is slowly killing her. Resigned to the fact she will not live long, she sets out to discover the mysterious disappearance of her sister. Experience has taught her to deny herself the love of a male, but the gruff Centaur is different. He doesn't push his expectations on her, only his healing nature.

When Rhycious loses his grip on reality, he believes his inability to control his disorder will drive Patience away. Nevertheless, desire flares, and Patience draws him close. Kidnapping and betrayal turn their mythic joint venture into a deadly bout.

Will their love endure when survival hinges on trusting each other?

My review:
Wow!!! I'm still reeling after finishing Remedy Maker by Sheri Fredricks. The world building is excellent and the characters are well suited to live there. The characters are wonderfully written with real life problems. The story is fast paced and drew me in right from page 1. Ms. Fredricks has made sure to include a lot of detail that only adds to the allure of the story. A lot of emotions, depth and dimension shape all of the characters into people. There were times I almost forgot I was reading about creatures that don't actually exist.

Rhycious believes he's too damaged to be happy with a family. The long war with the Wood Nymphs has taken it's toll. Rhy is also a Remedy Maker and is very good at what he does. When his friend Samuel, brings him an unconscious woman, Rhy is stumped as to what's causing it. When he examines her and finds out she's a Wood Nymph, he's immediately angry, and his PTSD kicks in.
Rhycious is super yummy, sexy, smart and an excellent remedy maker. I really liked him, he also has some wit with his dealings with other characters of the book. One of my all time favorite mythological beings is a Centaur. I've always just liked the idea of them.

Patience is searching for her missing sister, Serenity. Patience is cute as a button, dresses snappily, and has a special way of talking that confuses the heck out of Rhy. She knows she's ill, unfortunately just not what is causing it, so she's never let herself believe she has a future with a family. Patience's favorite name for Rhy is Stud Muffin and I laughed every time I read it. She just has a bubbly personality.

Ms. Fredricks infuses a lot of adventure, danger, plot twists and turns and a few surprises that are just delicious. There is also a plot to get Queen Savella, ruler of the Centaurs off the throne which only adds to the complexity of the story line.
I totally loved this book and recommend it to anyone who likes adventure, romance, lots of characters, surprises, and a little mystery in their books. You'll love it!!

Excerpt:

Abelia rocked her hips forward. She rode his hand with instinct, and a passion so pure that it dragged Jack down into her uninhibited intensity. He grasped hold and tugged the top of her sundress down farther and used a ferocious suction on her nipple that caused her to cry out. His thumb pressed and flicked while his finger slid rhythmically deeper. Jack's hard won self-control all but disintegrated as he slipped a second finger into her amazingly snug channel.

Her body jolted with a burst as is she’d become overwhelmed with sensation, and he reveled in her responsiveness. Her hands gripped his wrist, desperately holding him to her, and she again cried out from his teasing fingers.

The wood floor lay unforgiving beneath his knees, yet he hardly felt its bite as he slid lower over Abelia’s body. When his eyes were even with her glistening sex, Jack removed his hand and in a quick movement, replaced it with his mouth. He sealed his lips to the lips of her sex, and sweet nectar tantalized his tongue. Craving more, he licked and sucked, stroking her receptive body closer to climax.

"Should I make you come, sweetheart?" His voice echoed in the empty room as a thought occurred to him. "Can I make you come? Are you different from humans that way?"

"Please, Jack." She gasped, her green eyes glittering like emeralds, filled with need as impatient as his own.

He doubted she was conscious of anything but what her sleek body cried out for, but her eyes were focused on him. He knew she saw him, saw the need within him.

"Please…" she repeated on a moan.

If he didn't get in her soon, he'd crawl out of his bloody skin. His cock was full, throbbing, ready to explode. Jack leaned up and sat back on his heels, easing the zipper down past the lump.

Abelia's eyes widened when his engorged cock sprang free of his jeans, then she licked her lips and smiled. A subtle hip rotation coupled with her unconscious pelvic thrust, and he nearly came unglued before they even began.

One-handed, he shoved his pants down, past his thighs.

Jack hooked an arm behind her knee and stretched her leg up high. With his other hand, he held his rigid penis and bathed the spongy head in her fiery pool of wetness. Her legs flexed, thighs spreading to welcome him, the sight too erotic to bear. A luscious show played as he slipped and slid against her flared pink skin, his cock jerking at the contact with the moist heat. Throbbing and swollen, the head of his cock notched at her snug opening.

He leaned forward and kissed her hard, sweeping inside so she could taste herself on his tongue. In careful, controlled bursts, he pushed inside her snug body by excruciatingly slow inches. Her little tight channel swallowed him up, every agonizing increment.

Abelia threw her head back, keening in loud gusty huffs.

Need consumed him in a roiling storm, and his breath grated fiercely as he wrestled to focus. To stay in control. But it was hopeless. Jack was too primed, the deep-rooted throb of his body an unbearable thrill. He pulled back, and slammed home hard. Again.

And again.

In an instant, her breath hitched and she gasped with unbound pleasure.

While his lips explored her throat, he felt her moan vibrate against them as her body burst around his cock. Convulsions ripped through her that endeavored to squeeze the essence out of him.

Locked in orgasm, Abelia's body crackled like electricity, humming with astounding bliss.

Never before had he felt a splintered impact of pleasure as he did right now with her body milking him in turbulent upheaval. And never had he experienced such a sense of amazing satisfaction when she lay breathless and seemingly boneless beneath him.

Close to the edge of a mind-blowing cliff, he lurched forward once more. He ground himself so deep into her womb that he felt the rising wave of his release from a different plane within him.

Abelia lifted her sweet thighs to wrap them higher over his hips. It sank him further into her, and he shattered.

For a moment, he made no sound. His vocal cords remained frozen in spasm as he crested over. A star burst behind his tightly shuttered eyes and sudden scalding heat pulsed from his body and into hers. The release burst forth in profound, satisfying rushes that forced him to cry out from deep in his throat.

Gripped in endless pleasure, the tense muscles in his braced arms trembled as he was hit by the percussion of rippling post-orgasmic shudders that coursed through her, obliterating his consciousness.

Glorious bloody hell.
