Southern vixen Erica DeLongpre journeys to Spain to find the horse of her dreams, never expecting to find a man capable of stirring her sexual awareness.

Damián Xérès, a renowned bullfighter is deliciously skilled on a horse—and in bed. But a woman from Damian's past rattles Erica's confidence and threatens the very essence of her trip.

With Lucia waiting for the slightest chink in her armor, Erica can't help wonder what lies ahead in those Hot Spanish Nights.

Erica DeLongpre travels to Spain to purchase a horse she's always dreamed about.
She meets Damian Xeres, renowned bullfighter and expert horseman. Erica doesn't expect her body's reaction to Damian's. She is after all engaged to be married, although she doesn't love Trey. Damian is pure male and Erica can't stop thinking about riding him. When Erica sees Damian with a woman not long after she and Damian made love, she's hurt and upset. Damian insists it's over with his ex. But Lucia has other plans, she wants Damian and her actions threaten Damian's horses and Erica's safety.

My Review:
I really enjoyed reading Hot Spanish Nights by Bianca Swan. The story was well written and the hero and heroine were very real and likeable. Damian's character is sexy and confident and he's known as a playboy. I thought Damian was all alpha male but he was also vulnerable and sweet. He's just looking for the right woman to spend the rest of his life with. Erica seemed not to know her own effect on men. She's just a nice southern girl who wants a horse perfect for her. The book had a lot of steamy, hot sex between Damian and Eric. I liked how Ms. Swan injected the horsemanship terms into the story and that some had double meanings that gave some humor and fun to the read. I wasn't expecting the book to end where it did and I turned the page back and reread it to make sure I hadn't missed anything. I said "Nooooooo, you can't end it here." Hot Spanish Nights was a great book, but I do wish there had been an epilog. Maybe we can revisit Erica and Damian in a future book, Ms. Swan??

~~Author Wednesdays-Brenna Zinn~~

© Astine | Dreamstime Stock Photos & Stock Free Images

Please welcome my Author Wednesday guest, Brenna Zinn!!!!  Thank you for being her today Brenna and letting us know a little bit about Touched by Midas. Take it away, Brenna.

Want to be touched by a Navy SEAL?  Who doesn’t??

Last year I was a part of an award winning anthology – SEALs On Fire - with my book, Dagger’s Edge.  This year I have a sexy new release as a part of the SEALs Going Hot series with Desiree Holt, Cerise Deland and Samantha Cayto.  Touched by Midas, the story of a superstitious Navy SEAL and a woman trying to live a “normal” life away from her rock-and-roll family.

The story behind Touched by Midas
When our editor first asked the four of us to write another SEALs series, I decided I wanted to bring in as much authenticity to my story as possible.  Aside from actually having dated a Navy SEAL (which I haven't - sigh...), I did marry a Navy man and we spent the first three years of our marriage stationed at Naval Station Rota, Spain.  What readers read in Touched by Midas comes straight from my memories of living in Rota, working on the base and being with my huge military family.

You can purchase Touched by Midas by clicking on one of the following providers.

Touched by Midas
By Brenna Zinn

Blurb:
As a Navy SEAL, Michael “Midas” Baudine trains countless hours to prepare for combat. But a man can’t train for luck, so preserving his “Midas touch” good fortune is something he takes seriously, and he'll go to extreme measures to get his team on-board with his pre-mission, luck-assuring routines. He accepts a challenge from his team—get the sexy but uptight teacher, who blocks his advances at every turn, to the rock concert a week from today, and they’ll comply.
With a crazy rock star dad and top supermodel mom, Angie Summers was once a wild child but, wanting more out of life, has done her best to live under the radar of fame. She’s even assumed a secret identity and found a job teaching at Naval Station Rota, Spain. Her attempt at a “normal” life is quickly turned on its ear when a hot-as-hell Navy SEAL sweet talks her into a date she’ll never forget and may eventually regret.
While spending time with the muscle-bound sailor unleashes Angie’s need to let the wild child out to play, which could threaten her anonymity, Midas finds himself on the precipice of breaking the first rule of luck—never fall for a woman.

Excerpt:
How did nice girls survive? How did they resist the sexual magnetism of guys like Midas long enough to find the kind of man they could have a real relationship with? The seductive SEAL with the charming smile could make even a nun think twice about her vows, let alone a world-weary bitch trying to redeem herself.

“Sorry,” Angie heard herself say before the last of her restraint gave way. She turned and started walking, avoiding any further tax to her self-control.

“You think I’m not good enough for you?”

His question halted her foot mid-step. Of all the things he could have said, he’d found the one she couldn’t ignore. The one that suggested she was still the unkind woman of her youth. The girl who used people as much as they used her.

Biting a lip, she released a long sigh and made an about face.

“No. I don’t think you’re not good enough for me.”

“That’s easy enough to say, but harder to prove. Go out with me. Show me that your words are worth something.”

So many thoughts swirled through her mind. Some snarky and downright mean. Others a complete abdication to the power that was Midas. But before she could decide which one to toss out, the sailor threw down the gauntlet.

“I’ve got tickets to see Stereo Arsenal next week,” he said, coming closer. “Go with me. Be my date to what will probably be the show of the year on base.”

The mention of her father’s band broke the hold Midas had on her. No way she’d go and be recognized by one of the band members, roadies or fans. She’d already made arrangements for a few hours of private time with her parents while they were in Rota. That visit alone could compromise her identity.

“Sorry, buddy. No can do. I’m really not a fan of rock-and-roll.”

“Not a fan of rock and roll?” His eyebrows rose in mock surprise. “How is that even possible? Don’t you know that Stereo Arsenal is one of the best bands from the 80s? These guys sold more albums and had more top-ten hits than anyone else in their genre. They’re classic. Just scoring tickets for the show was a major coup.”

She couldn’t help the pride swelling her chest. Her father might be the leader of the madhouse, but he and the band had worked hard to rise to the top. They deserved every accolade they received.

“I don’t want to go to the concert by myself,” he persisted, increasing the wattage to his dazzling smile. “Prove your words are more than just sounds coming from those pretty lips.”

“Please.” She rolled her eyes. “There are dozens of beautiful women in Rota who would love to be your date. Maybe you should ask one of them.”

“You’re the only person I’m interested in. You have been for a while.”

What people are saying about Touched by Midas:
"I thoroughly enjoyed Touched by Midas; the very interesting characters, fun plot, and simmering sexuality made it one fantastic little novella!”  Slick, Guilty Pleasures

"Touched by Midas I have to say is now one of my favorite reads. All the components are there to tug at your heart for our military, for family and let’s not forget the hot scenes that you need a fan for."— Shey’s Book Cave

I remember reading about Texas in an Illinois grade school and thinking I probably would never see the great state where real cowboys ride their horses to work every day and everyone wears western hats and boots. Then again, I never dreamed I would elope in Gibraltar with a Navy man who hailed from the Lone Star state. But here I am, smack dab in the middle of Texas, still married to the same wonderful man and boasting not only the greatest daughter on the planet, but three dogs that are as big as long horns.

In between grade school and now, my journey through life has taken me all over the United States, as well as many places throughout the world. Using my travel experience as a guide and peppering in interesting characters I’ve met along the way, I love nothing better than weaving tales of romance and leaving readers yearning for adventures of their own.

Excerpt:

Kit ran down the stairs with a large bag flung over her shoulder. “Hey, Kit, wait up!” He grabbed a fresh to-go cup of coffee off the front porch and headed for her car.

“We’re not going to do this, are we?” She opened her car door then held out her hand like a stop sign.

“Do what?”

“This…this neighbor thing.” She gestured between their houses. “Seeing you every morning and every night will seriously cramp my style.”

Seeing her every morning and every night might suit his style just fine since she always looked so damn beautiful. Her hair was damp and she’d tied it up in another one of her messy ponytails. Again she wore no makeup. She was adorable and sexy in a messy, natural beauty way.

“I was just going to ask about the bathroom faucet.”

“It’s just fine.” She tossed her bag inside the car.

“Good. Coffee?”

She eyed him through narrowed eyes before taking it. “If you’re trying to get on my good side so I’ll call the ladies off, you’re mistaken.”

He stepped forward, resting one hand on the hood of her Jeep and the other on the door, effectively barricading her in. “Can’t you even give me some words of advice? It would be the neighborly thing to do.”

“Advice to scare the ladies away?” She smirked.

He nodded and winked.

“I wouldn’t wink for starters,” she said in a sharp tone.

“Okay, no winking.”

She sighed, rolled her eyes, relenting. “And don’t offer them anything like a beverage or food. That’s typically seen as an invitation.”

“Got it.” He nodded at the cup of coffee in her hand.

She shook her head then ducked inside the Jeep to stash the cup.

“Anything else?”

“Yeah…don’t bust out the guitar. If you do, then they won’t ever leave you alone,” she said this with a hesitant smile and blushed.

His heart nearly stopped in his uncertainty of how to respond. She looked so hopeful and he’d already disappointed her. What would she say if she knew the truth? “Good to know, but no worries. I don’t play anymore.”

Her smile turned into a look of distress. “What? Why?”

“I don’t know, I just don’t.” He shrugged as if to say it was no big deal, lying to them both.

“That’s the worst thing I’ve ever heard.”

“Why? I was never like you.”

“Stop! Just stop right now.” She held up a hand to silence him. “I can’t do this.” She motioned between the two of them. “I’m going to be late for work.” She got in the car and peeled out of the driveway without looking back.

In the shadows of our world, a secret band of warriors fights to protect us. They are the last line of defense against an evil no human can stop.
An ancient nemesis has resurfaced. Duty demands that Ashor Vlahos, Scimitar Magi commander, recruit a magical healer to fortify the remaining eight magi. The gods' choice is the woman who helped him escape torture a decade ago. Ashor couldn't have imagined a better punishment for his vow-breaker homicidal incidents than for the gods to bind him irrevocably to the only woman in the universe he cannot have. The soul-searing desire she ignites in him is strictly forbidden.
Kira Hardy, M.D. is a brilliant, hardworking internal med resident with big secrets. But when Ashor asks for aid after a brutal daemon attack, she is sucked into his dangerous, secret world. Enslavement to the magi, no matter how hot they are, may be an unattractive life plan, but being targeted for death by their enemies is less tolerable.

She must trust the sexy, tormented Ashor to keep her safe while he must deny his ultimate desire and keep Kira at arm's length lest he bring destruction down on them both. As a centuries-old evil catches up to them, they face a crucial decision--follow the gods' rules or follow their hearts.

My review:
I will admit that I was a little lost in the first few pages of trying to figure out all the different terminology and the different characters, it didn't take long for it to click in my brain. Dawn of a Dark Knight is full of emotions, twists and turns, surprises, and of course, the villains. Zoe Forward has a fantastic writing style that just makes the plot flow beautifully. The characters are larger than life, even though they do have their vulnerabilities. It's very easy to like the characters and the cause they are fighting for. They are very three dimensional and complicated. I loved the snarky humor between Ashor and Kira. laughing out loud several times. The interaction between all the magi also made Dawn of a Dark Knight a pleasurable read.

Ms. Forward created great sexual tension between Ashor and Kira that kept me turning the pages. Her attention to detail shows she must have done a lot of research. The main villain, Terek Nadir was fabulously evil and created a lot of turmoil for the hero and heroine.

I would strongly recommend Dawn of a Dark Knight to anyone, and if you like paranormal romance, you'll love this book. I can't wait to read the next book.
