BMP Presents~A.M. Griffin's Lover Claimed Blog Tour & Giveaway!

Welcome to my stop on A.M. Griffin's Lover Claimed Blog Tour & Giveaway presented by Book Monster Promotions.

For those who don’t know me, I’m A.M. Griffin.  I write steamy sci-fi erotic romances and about hot paranormal shifters and love struck girl in a dystopian society. You can find me at Ellora’s Cave or the indie scene. You can also see me live and in person at some of the smaller conferences where the focus is building the author/reader relationship. I believe in the unbelievable and the unimaginable. The easiest way to catch my attention is to talk about aliens or the pending alien invasion. LOL

Hang out to get to know me better…

What makes your hero(es) sexy?
Lajos Farkas of Lover Claimed is a wolf shifter. Need I say more? LOL. He’s tall dark and handsome. He’s a take control sort of guy. He’s also willing to put his needs over others. He’s a romantic at heart, even if he doesn’t think so. When he finally finds his mate, he’ll do everything he can to keep her safe and out of harm’s way.

What excites you about your story?
I like the action and adventure found in the Dark Wolf Enterprises series. I also like that two people, Lajos and Meisha, who are meant to be together can conquer all odds to give love a try. And I’m also excited about the prospect of their being more installments to the Dark Wolf Enterprises series. After Lover Claimed, I’ll round out the brothers with Andras’ story and then in the subsequent stories we’ll follow the other family members working at Dark Wolf Enterprises. I’m excited to see what else is going on in pack life and what troubles may bring.

What is your favorite line from your story and why?
Lover Claimed:
“My mom doesn’t like me swearing to God, she said it’s bad. So I swear to the next best thing—Oprah.”
I love this line. This is from when Meisha finds out the Lajos has “pushed” some thoughts into her head. Needless to say she doesn’t like that he’d manipulated her thoughts. Her response was “I swear to Oprah, if you do that shit again I will smack you sideways.” Lajos asked her why she was swearing to Oprah and her response is above. I love that crazy chick.

Where did you get the idea for your story?
I’ve been kicking around the idea for Dark Wolf Enterprises for a couple for a couple of years now. I actually started the first book last year and had to put it down to finish other projects. When the opportunity came to write a story for this multi-author box-set, I brushed it off and picked it right back up. I had no clue that I’d write about the other brothers until about half-way through Dark Wolf Enterprises when Lajos called Kristof on the phone after he and Meisha had been attacked at Trudy’s business. That’s when I thought, “I really need to write about the crazy chick in the background.” I think it’s going to be a great series about a pack of wolf shifters who’ve put pack life above everything else, even love. I’m actually excited to see how love takes each one of them down.

Why does your story start where it does?
Our first scene in Lover Claimed takes place at Trudy’s house. Kristof is pushing his thoughts in Trudy’s head to make her go back to his hotel with him so that he can keep her safe from the other wolves who tried to kill her. In Lover Claimed we find out what happened to Lajos after he separated from Kristof. Lajos is supposed to drop of Trudy’s dog to her best friend Meisha’s house and go to Trudy’s business to search for clues. Lajos’ life takes an interesting turn from there…

What creates conflict between your romance couple?
The main conflict in Lover Claimed is that Lajos Farkas and Meisha Komano come from two very different worlds. She’s a woman driven to protect her family from the Japanese gang that has been after them since she was a child and he’s a wolf shifter bent on protecting his company and pack. Meisha learned early in life not to lay down roots. That means not getting too attached to anything that might make her think twice about leaving Jacksonville if the gang came after her—including having a boyfriend and Lajos is no exception. Lajos is more than ready to claim his mate and keep her safe, too bad Meisha doesn’t see herself as the ‘damsel in distress’ kind of girl.

Is this a series and will you be writing more stories in this series?
Yes, I’m a series kinda girl. Dark Wolf Enterprises is the name of the series as well as the first book in the installment. Usually I go into the series with an idea of how many books I’ll write, but I didn’t attach a number to this one. Hopefully that means I’ll have a ton of stories to share with everyone! After the second book, Lover Claimed, I’ll start working on the third yet to be titles book. For right now I call it Andras’ story. All three stories will be just as action-packed and fast paced as the first!

What one piece of advice would you give new writers?
Never give up on your dream and write for the right reasons. If writing is something that you want to do, then I say stick with it. There will be ups and downs as with any profession, but as long as you have a plan you’ll be fine. I also say to write for the right reasons because if you are doing this for fame and glory I believe that you won’t like the outcome, but if you do it because you have great stories to tell and want to share them with people, then I think you’ll forever be fulfilled.

What do you love about writing in your romance sub-genre?
I think it’s helpful to write in the genre that most interest you. If you love science fiction and the paranormal I say write about that. Don’t write anything because it’s new or becoming trendy. I think the readers will eventually catch on that you’re writing outside of your genre. I love sci-fi and paranormal. The possibilities are unlimited and it doesn’t have the constraints as writing historical or even contemporary does. I actually love reading historicals, but unless a vampire is involved or an alien abduction, I think I would have a hard time conforming to the genre. LOL

Blurb:
When Meisha comes home and finds a strange man in her kitchen, she does what any sensible person would do. She beats the crap out of him first, then asks questions after. When he explains her best friend is in mortal danger, Meisha knows the whole mess—including a recent murder and the threats on her friend’s life—may be her fault, and she’s determined to get to the bottom of it. And no sexy stranger is going to stop her.

Lajos Farkas isn’t expecting to meet a spitfire, martial artist when he’s on a mission to figure out who’s stealing from Dark Wolf Enterprises, and he certainly doesn’t expect her to insist on butting in on his investigation. But getting rid of Meisha is seemingly impossible, and when his wolf decides she’s his life-mate, suddenly he realizes he’ll do anything to keep her close and grow old with her.

If they can just stay alive long enough to make that possible.

Excerpt:
Meisha tried her darnedest not to smile. She turned in front of the mirror and adjusted the straps, pretending to wonder if the black, two piece bathing suit was a good fit or not. It was. She already knew that much, but she liked making Lajos squirm.

Meisha never thought she had the kind of body that would make a man squirm or even make him get an erection in the middle of a store. She was curvy and short, taking after her mother and father. She didn’t have large tits or even ones that would fill out a B-cup. They were small and perky, just like her butt, and she didn’t have much in the way of hips either. Men found her attractive, but she thought that was only because they found her unattainable—she wasn’t interested in a relationship. Men only wanted someone they saw as a challenge and that was her in a nutshell.

She chewed on her bottom lip and tilted her head to the side. “I don’t know, Lajos. Do you think these bottoms are too big? Should I get a smaller pair?” She ran her hands across her butt and pulled the swimsuit bottoms down just enough so he could see the red thongs underneath.

Thank god she decided to throw them in her bag. Never mind that she’d only had a handful of clean panties and they were all thongs. Normally she hated wearing string for underwear, but right now she reveled in how her underwear and body was making Lajos watch her.

He groaned. Or was it more like a growl?

She bit back a smile and put on her serious face. “A smaller pair it is then.”

“Hell no,” he ground out.

“I just asked you a question. You don’t have to get all testy on me,” she said, pretending she thought his reaction was from her asking too many questions and not because her ass was already hanging out of the pair that she had on.

“Sorry, I’m not being testy. I’m just ready to go.”

She looked at her watch. In his defense she’d trapped him in here for almost an hour just so she could enjoy how he was making her feel.

Wanted.

Every girl should have a wolf-shifter watching them with such intensity in his eyes and feel as good as she did. She like the way he watched her—tracking her every move, his eyes changing color. Her skin prickled with heat when his gaze was on her. She could almost feel what part of her body he focused on. Warm heat caressed her shoulder, going down her spine and to the small of her back. She shivered as the heat moved to her butt and lingered. She closed her eyes with a flutter, imagining his big strong hands gripping her ass.

She wanted to turn around. To have him look at her fully, but she held still. She was supposed to be avoiding contact with Lajos, not egging him on, and definitely not fanning the fire that smoldered from his direction.

“Meisha,” he said, his deep and throaty. “If you don’t put your clothes back on I won’t be able to stop what will come next.”

She swallowed hard and turned around. “What will happen next?”

Fire successfully fanned.

Lajos erupted from his seat and came at her. She took a retreating step back. Her thought to move away from him came too late because, in a blink of an eye, he stood in front of her, pressing her against the mirror. “Do you like playing with fire?” His voice was so deep, demanding, filled with need.

Oh, god I want him.

She faced his challenge head on. “Yes,” she whispered.

DARK WOLF ENTERPRISES

Dark Wolf Enterprises (book 1) can be found in the Brought To His Knees boxed set.

Blurb:
Murder, mayhem and imprinting with a hot wolf shifter… And they say being an accountant is boring.

The big break Trudi Hollander’s small accounting firm needs has finally arrived, but unfortunately it comes with murder, mayhem and Kristof Farkas, a man she just can’t seem to resist. Even worse, Kristof is the CFO of Dark Wolf Enterprises—the one person who can pull the plug on the job that will take her company to the next level.

And then there are the assassins who can jump from three stories up and still be able to run away…
Kristof has no intention of giving in to his inner wolf and claiming Trudi. She’s human. Too fragile to withstand being a shifter’s mate. But the need to protect her is stronger than his resolve, and his desire is more powerful yet. He’ll fight with everything he has to keep her safe, both from those who would hurt her, and from himself.

BMP Presents~ A. M. Griffin's The Ashes That Remain Book Blast & Giveaway!

Hello and thank you for stopping by today. Today I'm hosting A.M. Griffin's The Ashes That Remain Book Blast & Giveaway presented by Book Monster Promotions.

Title: Against the Darkness
Author: A.M. Griffin
Series: Cimmerian Moon Book One
Genre:  Young Adult
Publication Date:  June 4, 2014

Blurb:
This one time, at band camp…aliens invaded earth. Sounds like a bad riff on an old joke, doesn’t it? Unfortunately for me and my friends, it’s all too true. I thought a mess like this only happened in the movies but, as I watch the alien ships hovering over the major cities, I suddenly realize I’m a thousand miles away from my Mom. From home. From safety.

Darkness may have fallen over the world, but I won’t let it claim me. I’ll do anything I have to get back to Michigan. Yet nothing could prepare me for what we find on our trek north from Tallahassee. There’s hardly anything the aliens haven’t bombed. Survival, at any cost, is the name of the game for the few people who haven’t been killed or captured. As if trying to stay free and alive isn’t enough, I think I just met the love of my life. And he’s just the kind of bad boy who’ll tear down the walls I’ve built around my heart—then break it.

Title: The Ashes That Remain
Author: A.M. Griffin
Series: Cimmerian Moon Book Two
Release Date: August 6, 2014

Blurb:
We’re at war against the aliens that have invaded Earth, fighting the only way we can—by surviving. I have more than most people do, but although I know it’s stupid to hold on, I can’t let go of what might have been—can’t help dreaming of something more. No matter how I tell myself it would be easier to do what everyone else wants me to, there’s a part of me that can’t give in.

Making the best of the situation is one thing. Settling, even to make other people happy, is something else.

Then we hear the alien mother ships have disappeared. Of course we have to go and investigate. What we find lands us in a huge mess that we somehow have to clean up and, as our little enclave is rocked to the core with even more changes, I’m learning a hard lesson.

The more things change—for the better or the worse—there’s no fighting human nature, and building on the ashes that remain will take everything we have. And maybe more.

**This book is written in first person. Young Adult, but some scenes may be too intense for younger readers.**

Excerpt:

We’re in trouble.

Deep trouble.

We’re out in the open.

It’s day time.

And no matter how many times I’ve been to Detroit, it’s still an unfamiliar city.

If this were Oxford Township, we’d have known all the nooks and crannies to hide in. But out here every building looks like a trap and every street looks like a dead end.

A blast erupts in front of us, sending snow and pieces of debris up from the ground to pelt me in the face.

I slide to a stop and lose my balance to fall on my side. “Shit.”

As MJ runs by me, he grabs my hood, pulling me to my feet. I hear his heavy breathing as we plough through the snow, hampered by the heavy drifts but propelled to sprint by adrenaline and fear. The increasingly louder hum of the spaceship whizzes through the air, gaining on us.

“Take cover!” Rocky yells.

The spaceship cuts through the wind above my head. MJ and I turn down a street and press ourselves against the side of the building. The spaceship travels in a blur past us. When it passes, I poke my head around the corner to see the ship make an angling turn back in our direction. Everyone has taken cover and is out of sight, except for Jorin.

My heart slams in my chest as I watch him dive under a car. When the craft makes a path toward where Jorin has hidden, I do the unthinkable.

I sprint from between the buildings and run across the street, drawing attention to me.

“Sinta!” MJ yells. “What the hell are you doing?”

One shot at the car and Jorin is a goner.

Whiz, boom! The ground shakes underneath my feet as a blast hits no more than five feet from me. I take off running in the opposite direction. Whiz, boom! I skid to a halt as another blast hit a few feet to my right.

“Over here!” Rocky yells, flailing his arms in the air. “Come get me you bastards!”

“This way!” Ian yells, doing the same thing Rocky is doing.

The spaceship can’t focus on three targets, so it fires behind Rocky.

Whiz, boom!

“Come on.” MJ’s strong hands grab me again, pulling me, urging me to run.

Panic engulfs me as Rocky runs by us. “That way!” He points to a narrow passage between two buildings. “Come on!”

I stay on his heels, too afraid to turn back to look at the spaceship or to see if everyone is following us.
Whiz, boom! Five feet in front of us, the ground shakes. Chunks of the building we were running toward erupts. Rocky makes a left. The GPS tumbles from his pocket. I slow down just enough to grab it and stuff it into mine.

Whiz, boom!

So close.

The heat from the blast scotches the side of my face. From my peripheral vision I see them, five lizards running our way.

In a flash Rocky has his rifle in his hands, peeling off shots as we run.

They shoot back, one of the bolts hitting Ian in his leg. He howls in pain, falling to the ground. MJ and I stop, going back for him. MJ works on lifting him, trying to put Ian over his shoulder. While he does, I cover them, firing shot after shot at the aliens coming closer to us.

“Help us!” I yell to Rocky and Jorin, but they’ve got their own troubles. Aliens are chasing them. In a frenzy I look for Wade, he’s stuck in an alien shooting match of his own.

I turn back to the aliens that are now just a few feet away from us. I can’t let them get to us. Panic rips through me.

Keep them away.

They’ll tear us apart without even trying. I empty both high-powered pistols in their direction, trying to keep them at a distance, taking down one. I reach underneath my coat, feeling the cool metal of my throwing knives in my hands. One-by-one, in quick succession, I aim and let my knives fly, hitting my target in the face. With each throw of my weapons, I try to kill. My knives hit the lizard’s eyes and one lodges in its skull.

It goes down.

Another lizard is too close for me to throw the knife that I’m clutching in my hand. I open my hand and let it drop to the ground. It’s no use to me right now. Using both hands, I reach behind my back and retrieve my swords.

“Leave me,” Ian cries out. I glance at him and see he’s clutching his leg. His face is twisted in pain as MJ positions Ian on his shoulder.

If MJ heard Ian, he doesn’t pay attention, because he lumbers to his feet with Ian dangling over his shoulder.

“Sin, let’s go,” MJ says as he struggles to walk in the snow with the added weight.

The lizard lunges for MJ and, with a swish of air, I take off its hand. I make a quick turn to the right and bring my other sword through its body where it glides freely until it lodges in the middle. As I pull out, the lizard falls on its stomach to land in a dead heap.

Another alien heads our way.

Where did this one come from?

I steady my feet and ready my swords. “Get him out of here MJ.”

“Don’t you dare leave her,” Ian yells. Just as I turn to tell them to keep going, the lizard’s tail hit me on my legs and knocks me on my back. I fall with an “oomph”.

“Sin!” MJ screams.

The lizard looms over me, his thin lips are pulled back to reveal his pointy teeth, which drip saliva onto my stomach.

“You belong to me,” it snarls.

It leans down to me, arms outstretched.

I aim my swords and thrust them both in its gut and twist.

Its eyes widen in disbelief. Slowly the lizard begins to slip down my swords. Its blood gushes down the metal to meet my gloves. MJ lets Ian slide to rest against a bus, then uses his booted foot to kick the lizard on its side. It falls, taking my swords with it.

I struggle to my feet and, once there, I pull my swords from the lizard’s belly.

“Aw, shit,” Ian says. His eyes are on something past MJ’s and my shoulders.

I turn to follow his gaze. More aliens. I glance around wildly. Where are Rocky, Wade and Jorin? I hear the gun shots in the distance but I can’t see them.

We’re on our own.

With no bullets and no help.

“Sin,” MJ calls. He holds his hand out and I toss him one of my swords.

We can do this.

“Don’t be idiots,” Ian says, shaking his head. “If you two stay, they’ll just kill you.”

I lift a shoulder. “Bet I can take out two,” I say to MJ.

He smirks. “Good, leave the rest for me.”

“Show off.”

It was odd. Us standing here, holding samurai swords and joking. About to die.

Excerpt:

JB looked toward the door as everyone else did. Taio stood at the entrance, with Eva on one arm and a taller female who looked just like him on the other. He waited as everyone rose to their feet.

“That’s his mother, Queen Fainia Xochis of Drazlan,” Lo’Ren said from the seat next to him. “It’s customary for you to stand when she enters the room.”

“I’ve already pissed him off today, no need to do it again if it’s not totally necessary.” JB stood.

Taio proceeded through the door, followed by three other females. JB immediately found himself staring at one in particular.

Her head was cast down slightly, her face obscured by waves and waves of jet-black hair that brushed the swell of her round butt. She wore a pale-purple form-fitting dress. The floor-length gown had designs made of colored crystals. Her skin was the same color as Taio’s, but different. It seemed to glow. Her build was tall and slender with a hint of curves where they were needed most.

She turned her head.

He caught his breath.

Beautiful.

As her lavender eyes locked on Lo’Ren, he willed her to look his way. Her features were sharp and foreign, but beautiful in every way. Her cheekbones were high and defined. Her lips were full and pink. She had a look of longing in her eyes and he wanted to know why.

No, he needed to know why.

Was she upset?

Who had taken the joy away from such a perfect female?

Look at me. I want to know you.

“Uh, unless you’re inviting Taio to kill you, I would sit down,” Lo’Ren said, tugging on his sleeve.

He glanced around to find he was the only one still standing. JB sat but kept his eyes on the female across the room. “Why would he kill me? She’s not human.”

“She’s his younger sister, Princess Saia.” Lo’Ren popped a piece of meat in her mouth and chewed. “Look the other way, human.”

That information alone should have been enough to make him turn his head and focus his attention on something else, but he couldn’t.

Princess Saia.

Rasha grabbed Saia in a bear hug and lifted her from her feet. JB watched, waiting for her to turn his way. His heart thumped. He wanted to go to her, meet her.

She was his.

He shook his head, trying to dislodge the misplaced thought.

Where the hell did that come from?

Then she turned toward him. Their eyes met.

And there it was.

His heart felt as though it was seized in a tight fist then dropped to the pit of his stomach.

“This is where you take my advice before you get into trouble.”

“She’s looking at me,” he whispered.

Every nerve in his body sprang to life. Her eyes were framed in the heaviest lashes he’d ever seen. And when she blinked, they looked like wings of butterflies.

He sighed and felt as if his body had melted into the chair.

Lo’Ren groaned. “Taio will kill you.”

“I don’t care.” He couldn’t drag his gaze away. A small smile graced beautiful full lips. Lips he wanted to claim for his own. From the side, her face had appeared long, but no, it was round and soft. Her nose was perky and petite. “Princess Saia,” JB said breathlessly.

Lo’Ren shook her head. “I shouldn’t have told you her name. I don’t want any part of this.”

“I would have found out anyway.” Nothing could have stopped him from knowing her name.

Lo’Ren blew out a heavy breath. “Did I mention that she’s Taio’s only sister?”

The possibilities of death and dismemberment have never stopped him before.

Inside Scoop:  This book has a small taste of female/female fun—as well as scenes of abuse that are decidedly not fun.

Excerpt:
“Oh Jesus.

If it weren’t for the tone in Jess’ voice, Saia wouldn’t have been pulled from watching the human male across the room.

Jess placed a hand across her eyes and shook her head slowly.

“Pardon me?”

Jess groaned. “Please, please look at something else.”

Saia let her gaze go back to the male. His black hair was cut short. His blue eyes were framed with an abundance of dark lashes. Light seemed to dance in his eyes as he smiled in her direction.

Is he smiling at me?

She took a quick peek left then right

He’s smiling at me!

Her heart leapt for joy. His graceful smile was only for her. She giggled and placed a hand over her mouth.

“He won’t be satisfied until he’s dead,” Jess muttered.

She turned to Jess. “What are you talking about?”

Jess watched the male across the room as well. But instead of smiling, she made a slow motion across her neck with a finger. “I’m referring to the slow death he’s sure to get if he keeps flirting with you.”

Flirting?

She turned back to the male. No one had ever flirted with her. She smiled again.

“Good gracious, don’t encourage him!”

“Do you know him?”

“Unfortunately, yes.” Jess rolled her eyes. “Maybe I should start saying that I knew him.”

The lights turned low, signaling the beginning of the dinner entertainment. The voices in the dining hall became hushed. Saia strained her eyes to make out the silhouette of the human.

Slow, rhythmic drums began to beat. Light shone from the stage door. One torch, then two, then three, until finally there were six. In the darkness, the torches zipped through the air, swung in circles, tossed and caught.

Every now and again, she could catch a glimpse of him and found that he still watched her as well.

Her heart seemed to thump in time with the drums. His smile had dropped but his stare was intent just the same. His gaze seemed to bore through her. Right to her soul. And she found she enjoyed it.

She leaned over to whisper, “Tell me his name.”

Jess shook her head. “Ignore him like I do most days and watch the show.”

Ignore him? She couldn’t. “But I want to know his name.”

Jess looked at her. “Listen, Princess Saia, this can’t happen.”

“What can’t happen?”

“You and JB. Taio would never allow it. You’re getting married and JB’s going back to Laconia. I’m trying to keep him alive at least until then.”

Jaybee. She turned to look at him again.

Jaybee. What a wonderful name.

“Argh, can you at least get that dreamy look off your face?”

“Is he a slave?”

“No.”

“Is he bonded?”

“No.”

“Can you introduce me to him?”

“Absolutely not.”

“Why?”

Jess raised a brow. “Have you seen the size of your brother?”

Jess was right. Taio was extremely protective of her. That was the very reason why she could never tell him their father had long been striking her and her mother. And she couldn’t forget that she was contracted to bond with Ranuit Pi.

And just like that, an overwhelming sense of dread had ahold of her once again.

There could be no flirting. No smiles from across the room as she’d heard described on many occasions from people who had fallen in love. Her fate belonged to someone else.

Title: Dangerously Her
Author: A.M. Griffin
Series: Loving Dangerously, Book #3

Blurb:
Jess hates aliens. After the invasion that destroyed Earth, the extraterrestrial bastards sold her to a brothel as a sex slave. She may have escaped but the old memories and fears still linger in the dark corners of her mind. Supposedly Sonis is just the place for her—somewhere safe, where she can heal and start fresh. She’s almost hopeful…until she meets Rasha, her new boss.

Rasha, Captain of the Sonis Royal Guard, is a warrior through and through. He’s huge, sinfully sexy and could have any woman on Sonis—but the woman he wants is Jess. He’s very much an alien and Jess knows she should hate him or at least be wary, but whenever he’s around, she loses control. She tells herself it’s only sex—amazing, mind-blowing sex like nothing else she’s ever experienced—but there’s something about Rasha that shakes her soul. The feel of his skin against hers, the look in his eyes as he touches her—they make her want to believe it’s possible to find love and begin  again.
