Hi! I hope you enjoy your visit to my blog today and reading about Kerry Schafer's new book Wakeworld. Kerry is also having a giveaway I also want to thank Kerry for stopping by today and answering a few questions. Here's our interview:
Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Let's see - I live in a little house in a big woods up north near the Canadian border. I work as a nurse in a doctor's office right now, but I'm also a mental health counselor and I've had some interesting adventures doing mental health crisis response. Coffee is something I pretty much live for. I've got a big dog and a small cat, and at the moment there is a rescue caterpillar named Woolly Bear living in a canning jar on my windowsill. For some reason he hatched out while the ground was still covered with snow, so we're trying to keep him alive until spring. Oh - and I have my very own Viking who lives with me.
When did you start writing?
I think I was in about 6th grade when I decided to start writing poetry. I've been at it in one form or another ever since.
Do you have any writing rituals?
Coffee. That's about it. Although I do like to have music, preferably heavy on the Mark Knopfler and Norah Jones, and I feel the need to check both Twitter and Facebook before I actually get down to writing.
What can readers expect next from you?
I'm currently writing the 3rd of the Books of the Between. And I'm working on a couple of other projects - a paranormal mystery/thriller called Dead Before Dying, and a collaborative project with my critique partner Alex Hughes. That one is a horror thriller sort of thing; we're having great fun.
If you could bring one of your characters to life, who would it be and why?
Mmmmm, probably Zee. Because - Zee. Although he and the Viking might not hit it off and that would be a problem.
Other than writing, what are some of your passions in life?
Reading. I mentioned coffee earlier, right? I wasn't kidding. Also, yoga and long walks in the woods. And naps.
Coffee or Tea?
Salty or Sweet?
Bad boy or good guy?
Once again - I like both flavors swirled together, thank you very much.
Favorite ice cream?
Various combos of coffee, chocolate, and caramel with crunchy bits
Thanks again Kerry for a fun and enlightening interview. And now on to the book stuff.

Praise for WAKEWORLD
“Wakeworld is a fine adventure. Kerry Schafer gives us heroes we can root for and a world that twists and turns like an Escher print so that nothing is quite what it seems.”~Anne Bishop, New York Times Bestselling Author
Don't miss out on Between, book one in the Between Series.
Kerry Schafer is licensed both as a Mental Health Professional and an RN, and spends most of her daylight hours helping people–usually even with a smile. In books, she gets to blow stuff up, preferably with something more interesting than a bomb. Dragons are good; exploding giant slime toads are even better. She has published two novels with Ace Books: BETWEEN, which was released in January 2013, and WAKEWORLD, slated to hit stores in January 2014. She is also the author of THE DREAM WARS novellas, available where electronic books are sold.
Kerry and her Viking live in Colville, Washington, in a little house surrounded by rocks, trees, and gangs of deer and wild turkeys.
