It's Author Wednesday time again, and today my guest is Zenobia Renquist. Welcome to For Whom The Books Toll, Zenobia. With Zenobia today are Jeliyah and Teaghan from CREAM.
Character
Interview: CREAM (On the Hunt) by Zenobia Renquist
Interviewer:
Joining us today are Jeliyah and Teaghan from CREAM by
Zenobia Renquist—an Erotic Vampire Romance from Ellora’s Cave
that is part of the On the Hunt multi-author series. It’s
great of you to come out.
Jeliyah:
Thanks for having us.
Teaghan:
‘Sup.
Interviewer:
Jeliyah, the story starts with you. You’re a necromancer. That
means you can control the dead, right?
Jeliyah:
That’s the traditional meaning, yes. In the case of CREAM,
it means I am an individual born with the ability to control magic
that allows me to combat vampires.
Interviewer:
And vampires are dead in this world?
Jeliyah:
Not dead, per se.
Teaghan:
Sitting right here. I walk and talk, so I’m guessing I’m not
dead.
Interviewer:
/chuckles/ No you most certainly aren’t, but you’re not my
definition of alive either, are you, Teaghan?
Teaghan:
Magic and blood keep me going. Necromancers can negate that magic.
Pain in the ass but it pays the bills.
Interviewer:
For those in the audience, Teaghan is an enforcer.
Teaghan:
Glorified title for a merc.
Jeliyah:
He means bounty hunter. We work together to bring in rogue vampires
who break the law.
Teaghan:
She means we kill mofos who’re too stupid to live. The only things
we bring in are their heads.
Interviewer:
Sounds messy.
Teaghan:
/shrugs/ I’ve got plastic bags.
Interviewer:
Does it bother you working with a necromancer? Aren’t necromancers
and vampires mortal enemies because of the way they hunted you prior
to vampires coming out?
Teaghan:
The vampire and human governments want to show they can play nice so
we work together to show solidarity or some crap like that. The days
of hunting vampires are over, in the US anyway. You won’t catch my
ass traveling abroad any time soon. As for working with Jeliyah, no
issues there. All she has to do is wear a tight shirt, or no shirt at
all, and I’m happy.
Jeliyah:
/rolls eyes and sighs/
Interviewer:
Which leads to my next question… You two got intimate, very
intimate, in CREAM. Any regrets?
Teaghan:
Yeah. It should have happened sooner, like five seconds after we met.
It would have saved us a lot of crap later.
Jeliyah:
As much as I hate to admit it, he’s right. If we had gone to bed
instead of that hunt, we wouldn’t have landed on the hunted list
ourselves. Though that led to our present situation so I’m not too
upset about it.
Interviewer:
If I was you, I wouldn’t be upset about it either. Do you think Ms.
Renquist will revisit your world again? I would love to catch up with
you two in the future to see how you’re doing.
Teaghan:
You gotta ask her that.
Interviewer:
It so happens that she’s here right now and I will. Please welcome,
Zenobia Renquist.
Zenobia:
Hi hi. This is just real quick. I’ve got books to write and
characters to torture.
Interviewer:
Real quick then. Will we be seeing more of Jeliyah and Teaghan’s
world? Them too?
Zenobia:
I have two other books planned for this world. It’s just a matter
of getting them written and off to my editor, which is easier said
than done. I have a lot of titles on my to-be-written list but those
two stories are coming. How soon I can’t say for sure. Jeliyah and
Teaghan will cameo in at least one. I love revisiting my characters.
Interviewer:
Can you give us a hint what the books will be about?
Zenobia:
One will deal with Teaghan’s progeny Mekhail and his love life. The
other will deal with the mess Teaghan and Jeliyah left back in their
hometown.
Teaghan:
Not my mess. That’s got nothing to do with me.
Zenobia
& Jeliyah: Now.
Interviewer:
/chuckles/ Sounds interesting. I look forward to reading both.
Zenobia:
Me too. I write by the seat of my pants so I have no clue what’s
going to happen until after I write it. I just know the gist and the
characters. That’s it. The rest comes to me as I type. Speaking of
typing. I’ve got to get back to it. Thanks for having me.
Interviewer:
Thank you for coming out.
Teaghan:
We’re out too. I’ve gotta debrief Jeliyah before out next
mission.
Interviewer:
I’ll bet. Thank you both for being here today. It was great talking
to you. For those in the audience, you can read all about Teaghan and
Jeliyah’s adventure in CREAM by Zenobia Renquist.

more about the title below.
Blurb:
She's
entered a world where blood, sex, and cash rules everything around
her.
What
do a four hundred-year-old vampire and a mid-level necromancer have
in common? Money. Jeliyah needs it to pay off the people who trained
her and Teaghan enjoys killing to get it. Together they hunt rogue
vampires—assuming Teaghan can focus on something other than getting
her in bed and Jeliyah doesn’t put a bullet in him first.
The
uneasy partnership promises to be lucrative until Teaghan and Jeliyah
get on the wrong side of a feud. Jeliyah is forced to use forbidden
magic and finds herself bound to a man she should hate—but whom she
can’t stop fantasizing about.
Every
second they stay alive fuels a growing desire Jeliyah is unwilling to
deny. Is it the magic? The danger? The only way to get the answers
she craves is to outrun the enemy or kill them. She knows Teaghan’s
preference but it's Jeliyah who must put their mind-blowing sex aside
and make the choice that will decide both their fates.
Inside
Scoop: An interracial romance between a wannabe-gangtsa vampire
and a career-focused magic user who go from being the hunters to the
hunted in an exciting new urban fantasy world.

I hope you'll all stop back next Wednesday when Cynthia Sax will be here.
Which is better, writing wild sex scenes, or doing the research for them? kbinmich AT yahoo DOT com
ReplyDeleteDoing of course...though there is only so "wild" the hubby is willing to get. Me too for that matter. I'm not as flexible as some of my heroines. :)
DeleteCongrats to Kimberly. You've won a copy of CREAM. Keep an eye on your inbox.
